Lecture by Dr. John R. Watt, a renowned historian on Chinese public health and medical history, is currently vice president of the ABMAC Foundation. Dr. Watt is author of several books on Chinese history. He also have led many study tours to China for American educators to enhance their capacity to teach about US-China relations.
Based on his near published book “Saving Life in Wartime China: Epidemics, Wars, and the Emergence of Public Medicine”, Dr. Watt introduced the origin and practice of public medicine in early years of Nationalist China, and how Chinese and American medical professionals struggled to bring health care to the people in wartime China from 1928 to 1945.
