“Meet the Food System” with Walter Willett, Professor of Epidemiology and Nutrition, Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health

September 28th, 2022 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Smitha Haneef, Managing Director for Harvard University Dining Services is pleased to introduce the Harvard Food Systems Initiative (HFSI) and introduce her HFSI co-chair, Dr. Willett, for a discussion that launches this new year-long focus on the food system with a special focus on nutrition.

What is the “food system” and how does it define personal and societal health? Join Dr. Walter Willett for an introduction to the web of activities – production, processing, distribution, consumption and waste – that define what and how we eat, and how our relationship to the food system and our participation in it informs human health. Focusing on Dr. Willett’s unique expertise on the long-term health consequences of food choices, consider how the broader food system and your engagement in it will improve your health.

This event is free and open to the public. Harvard ID holders may attend in person; registration is encouraged as seating is limited. A live Zoom option will also be available for non-Harvard ID holders. Registration on Zoom is required to receive the webinar link.
