May 7, 2018 — On April 24, 45 master of public health (MPH) students from five fields of study presented their work addressing real-world problems with organizations in Boston and around the world. Students specializing in Global Health, Health Management, Health Policy, Health and Social Behavior, and Quantitative Methods shared findings and professional experiences from their practicum, which is a degree requirement for the MPH. The electronic posters were scored by a team of faculty and DrPH student judges, and all participants could vote electronically for the audience favorite.

The winners were:

First: Sukanya Venkatesan, Health Management, “Admission Planning Using Predictive Analytics To Optimize Bed Utilization”

Second: Greg Zwisler, Health Management, “What next for The Netherlands’ top healthcare innovation center?”

Kia Byrd, right, won the Audience Favorite award for her poster, “Project Focus: Crafting School Policies to Support Girls of Color.”

Third: Morgan Medlock, Health Policy, “Incompetent to Stand Trial: Strategies for Jail Release and Community Re-entry”

Audience Favorite: Kia Byrd, Health Policy, “Project Focus: Crafting School Policies to Support Girls of Color”
