Global health: Harvard and Australia join together to make water a priority

On Aug. 13, 2010, a collaboration between the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA), Uniwater (Monash and Melbourne Universities) and Harvard University (represented by John Briscoe, Gordon McKay Professor of the Practice of Environmental Engineering at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) and professor of the practice of environmental health at HSPH, was announced to begin a two-year project to assess the priorities and options for water supply policies across Australia. Reform of water management is a critical issue in Australia where factors such as climate change and drought have made water resources scarce.
