The Lee Kum Sheung Center for Health and Happiness was officially opened at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health on May 11 in a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by members of the Lee Kum Kee family and the Harvard Chan community.

The new Center will be located on the 6th floor of the Kresge building.

Naming the Center after their business founder, Lee Kum Sheung, the Lee Kum Kee Family has donated $21 million to support rigorous scientific efforts to explore and understand the interplay between positive psychological well-being, positive social environments, and physical health. In April, a signing ceremony was held in Hong Kong to announce the establishment of the new Center.

Officiating at the event was Sammy Lee, Chairman and Managing Director of LKK Health Products Group, together with David Hunter, Acting Dean of the Harvard Chan School.

Co-directors of the Center are Laura Kubzansky, Lee Kum Kee Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and K. “Vish” Viswanath, Lee Kum Kee Professor of Health Communication.
