America’s housing crisis: Policy levers to drive change

The number of people experiencing homelessness has been rising steadily in the U.S., to nearly 600,000 last year. Adrianne Todman, deputy secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, aims to achieve the Biden administration’s goal of cutting homelessness by 25% within the next two years. She brings a track record of success in D.C., where she expanded affordable housing, launched a new program to house unsheltered veterans, and commissioned the first needs assessment for residents of public housing. Deputy Secretary Todman will join us to discuss ideas for tackling the homeless crisis, strengthening neighborhoods, and improving public health through smart housing policies.
