Abstract: The Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) fills a unique role in the U.S. health care landscape. As it passes its 15th year in operation, ICER’s impact has never been greater, yet significant obstacles still remain. What have been the lessons learned about conducting and communicating cost-effectiveness analyses for decision-makers in the U.S.? Steve Pearson, the Founder of ICER, will address this question and share his vision for the future.

Bio: Steven Pearson, MD, MSc is the Founder and President of the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER), an independent non-profit organization that empowers society to achieve an innovative and more just health care system within ultimately limited societal resources. Dr. Pearson is also a Lecturer in the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and the author of the book No Margin, No Mission: Health Care Organizations and the Quest for Ethical Excellence.
