FXB Fellow Satchit Balsari receives honor in India

Satchit Balsari receives award from Shri Pranab Mukherjee, President of India

Satchit Balsari, an FXB Center for Health and Human Rights Fellow and, until recently, chief of the Global Emergency Medicine Program at Weill Cornell Medical College/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, was awarded the 2016 Dr. B. C. Roy National Award for outstanding services in the field of sociomedical relief by the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, on March 28, 2017 at a ceremony held at the President’s residence, Rashtrapati Bhavan, in New Delhi. Balsari, a 2002 graduate of Harvard Chan School, is an emergency physician and public health practitioner. His research is focused on the application of digital technology to advance health and human rights in vulnerable populations.
