Health consequences of discriminatory housing policy

Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health professors Mary Bassett and Nancy Krieger discussed the harmful health consequences of redlining—a historic government policy that institutionalized housing discrimination against people of color across America—on an episode of Harvard’s UN/EQUAL podcast released in June 2021. Bassett is Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Professor of the Practice of Health and Human Rights and director of the FXB Center for Health and Human Rights. Krieger is professor of social epidemiology.
