Winnie Yip elected president of International Health Economics Association

Winnie Yip, professor of the practice of international health policy and economics at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, was elected president of the International Health Economics Association (iHEA) on December 1, 2017.

Yip, director of the School’s China Health Partnership, focuses her research on improving healthcare delivery, especially for the poor.

When she assumes her new role in January, Yip said, “I’d like to forge a closer link between academic health economists and health policymakers, with the goal to make research more relevant for addressing policy questions to improve people’s health and well-being.”

Yip’s research in China was featured in a Harvard Gazette article, published December 18, 2017: Researchers work to fill health-care gaps in China
