What makes a building ‘healthy’?

Good ventilation and air quality, a comfortable temperature, low noise levels, and natural light are all components of a “healthy” building, according to experts at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

A June 28, 2018 ArchDaily article focused on the School’s Healthy Buildings initiative, led by Joseph Allen, assistant professor of exposure assessment science, and housed under the Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment (C-CHANGE). The ArchDaily article provided an overview of a report on the Healthy Buildings website that highlights nine foundations for a making a building healthy.
