The Harvard Chan Health Systems Innovation Student Club was formed in 2022 to provide a dedicated, supportive, and interdisciplinary environment for students to address knowledge and practice gaps in healthcare innovation.

We aim to create a community of practice and enable an ecosystem for students with entrepreneurial minds, to think, design, and create innovative solutions for the most pressing public health problems worldwide. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, student and youth involvement is needed now more than ever. It is the time to provide entrepreneurial and solution-driven individuals in public health with a dedicated and supported space to experiment and grow their ideas. Our mission statement is “Inclusive design, implementation, and scale-up of health system innovations to enable better and more equitable health outcomes for all.”

The HSI lab is a co-founder and works closely with the Harvard HSI Student Club to create an HSI ecosystem across Harvard University and the Harvard Teaching Hospitals of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital.

Objectives

We envision becoming the leading student club at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and across the Harvard and MIT healthcare innovation ecosystem. We will catalyze health systems innovation by promoting collaboration and networking, translating rigorous health systems research into pragmatic innovations that can be scaled up for impact, and creating a global community of practice of health systems innovation alumni. The student club will be innovative by design and the first of its kind at Harvard and the world.
