Did you know? When Requesting Absences in PeopleSoft Absence Management

Many staff are not aware that a notification email can be sent right away to the staff members approver or back-up approver.  Years ago the automated functionality was taken away in PeopleSoft, but was brought back in the form of the notify link/button.

It’s pretty easy and straightforward:

  1.  The Notify button will appear on the absence request confirmation page that is displayed immediately after the employee submits absence. You can navigate to the View Request History page, open up a request and access the notify button from there as well.
  2.  When you click on the Notify button, an email template will appear. You can begin typing in the preferred approver into the recipient box which will be prepopulated with approvers from their approval group.  Matches will begin to appear as you type.
  3.  The body of the email will be prepopulated with the name, absence type, and dates of the absence requested. You can also edit the text.
