2024

Cited from the EH Chair Chatter (April 5, 2024) : Kocaeli Travel Award; Dr. Faria Khan, Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Jin-Ah Park’s lab, has been selected as one of the recipients of the 2024 Kocaeli International Travel Award. What a well-deserved achievement, Faria—great work!

2023

Chim Mwase, the first doctoral student in the Park Lab, successfully defended her thesis on April 28th, 2023. The photos from her party are shared in the photos.

2022

We are proud to share that Chimwemwe Mwase has been awarded the Barry R. and Irene Tilenius Bloom Fellowship for 2021-22.

The recipient of the Barry R. and Irene Tilenius Bloom Fellowship is selected based on academic merit, leadership potential, and commitment to improving public health in fields and areas of the world in greatest need. We thank the effort of the selection committee. Congratulations to Chim on this well-deserved award.

[2019 Department retreat]

  • Park Lab members (Jen, Mike, and Chim) presented the poster at the department retreat in Dec 2019.

[2019 Gordon Research Conference: Lung Development, Injury and Repair]

  • We are proud to announce that Chim Mwase was elected as a co-chair for the 2021 Goron Research Seminar. She is the first graduate student who is elected as a co-chair at this GRS.
Chim Mwase, a 2nd yr doctoral student in the BPH program, presented her work demonstrating that tissue factor-positive extracellular vesicles are released from well-differentiated human bronchial epithelial cells.

[New Grants]

  • We are proud to announce  that Dr. Jen Mitchel received the Parker B. Francis Fellowship from the Francis Family Foundation (2019-2021). Dr. Mitchel will investigate epithelial cell jamming to determine if the epithelial cell unjamming is the fundamental process of epithelial repair.
  • Park Lab received a new R01 grant entitled “Physics of Bronchial Epithelial Unjamming.”

 

 


2018

We are proud to announce that Dr. Mike O’Sullivan has been appointed the Joseph D. Brain fellow (Oct. 2018 -Sept. 2019).

Joseph D. Brain is the Cecil K. and Philip Drinker Professor of Environmental Physiology and former chair of the Department of Environmental Health at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. Joseph D. Brain fellowship was established to honor Dr. Brain for his significant contributions to the Department of Environmental Health and the field of environmental physiology.

Dr. Jennifer Mitchel presented her work on distinguishing the unjamming transition from the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition.

Park Lab members received the Scholarship awards at the 2017 ATS international conference, Washington, D.C.
