HIPAA and the AWS Shared Responsibility Model Workshop

This workshop is to aim to clarify HIPAA requirements and practice of using AWS Cloud Computing to handle secure HIPAA data.
- Overview of the requirements of HIPAA and the AWS Shared Responsibility Model (45 min)
- Specific AWS approaches to the four given scenarios (1 Hr)
- How to transfer HIPAA data from HSPH to AWS and store it securely
- How to transfer regulated data from government sources (NIH, dbGaP) to AWS and store it securely
- How to transfer data from AWS to HSPH securely
- How to share data on AWS securely
- Break (15 min)
- The AWS HIPAA Quick Start (30 min)
- Lab: Deploying and using Jupyter Notebooks (Python) in AWS (45 min)
- Lab: Deploying and using RStudio (R) in AWS (45 min)
