FASRC Computing Cluster

 

1. FASRC Features & Cost

• Cannon high-performance computing cluster (formerly Odyssey): free service includes CPU and GPU compute
• Storage: information on storage tiers and cost is available on the FASRC website. A policy on School coverage of PI storage is currently under development. Storage of less than 20 TB on less expensive tiers will generally be covered. If PIs need large volumes of storage or storage on expensive tiers, please contact Deane Eastwood or Matt Ronn at HSPH IT to discuss options.
• Above standard services: customized solutions for Harvard level 3 data and above, and other above standard services may incur a fee

2. FASRC Eligibility Criteria for Harvard Chan School Investigators

• Access to FASRC resources is organized through the account of an eligible PI.
  • Eligible PIs include all primary faculty, research scientists of all ranks, and secondary faculty with at least 25% FTE at the Harvard Chan School.
  • Post docs, research associates, and students are not eligible to PI a research computing lab at FASRC.

3. Request a FASRC Account

• This process begins with the registration of an eligible PI
• Lab members may then join by selecting their registered PI when setting up their account

4. FASRC Training, Documentation, & Support

• Weekly virtual office hours are available with FASRC staff on Wednesdays from 12 PM to 3 PM
• FASRC training calendar including monthly new user trainings
