Job Description
We have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow in environmental epidemiology. We are looking for an exceptional and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the Weisskopf Environmental Epidemiology group. The successful candidate will be working under the guidance of Dr. Weisskopf to conduct innovative research that addresses questions of environmental exposures and neurological health, in particular questions related to early life exposures and later life cognitive health.

Part of this work is in conjunction with the Harvard MEMCARE Superfund project and the postdoctoral fellow will be able to take advantage of training activities related to our Superfund Research Center. In addition, the resources of the Environmental Health Department, the Harvard Chan-NIEHS Center for Environmental Health, and the Harvard Chan School overall will be available to the incoming fellow.

We are particularly seeking individuals looking for training and research experience in areas relevant to environmental epidemiology, neuroepidemiology, and epidemiologic methods/causal inference.

The Research Fellow will be responsible for:

  • Programming independent analyses
  • Writing the first draft of manuscripts
  • Presenting research at regional and/or national conferences

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Doctoral degree required (e.g. PhD, MD, DO, DVM, PharmD). Degree in Environmental Health, Epidemiology, or a related discipline preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with spreadsheet, relational database, graphics, and word processing software.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with at least one statistical software package is required, e.g., SAS, R.
  • Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.

Experience with environmental epidemiological investigation and/or neuroepidemiology are desirable.
