MELD Seminar: Extracellular vesicles in environmental and lung diseases

January 16 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

In Person

With Quan Lu, the Cecil K. and Philip Drinker Professor of Environmental Physiology in the Department of Environmental Health at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

His laboratory studies molecular mechanisms underlying complex gene-environment interactions in multigenic human diseases such as asthma and neurodegeneration, focusing on the emerging role of extracellular vesicles in disease pathogenesis, prevention, and therapeutics. His current work surrounds his discovery of a novel intrinsic mechanism known as ARRDC1-Mediated Microvesicles (ARMMs), which plays a key role in intercellular signaling and inter-tissue communication and holds potential as a platform for therapeutic delivery into diseased cells.
