Melissa Macedo is a medical student at University of Fortaleza, Brazil. She is interested in the fields of Public Health, Global Health and Universal Health Coverage and her main research interests are immunology, chronic diseases and epidemiology allied to Data Science. She collaborates with the Harvard Health Systems Innovation Lab as a student intern on the Data Collaborative Research Initiative – Latin America & Caribbean region, focusing on the development of a data network within this and other regions, as means to strengthen health system’s outcomes in relation to cardiovascular disease in Brazil, as well as other countries in Latin America.
