Charge

To address issues of concern to women faculty at the school: to promote the career advancement of women by addressing such issues as recruitment, promotion, retention, and tenure; to promote equity in salary, space, and resources; to promote a positive professional work environment; to address issues related to the perception of women in the sciences; to address issues related to parenting; to serve as a liaison with the HSPH Faculty Council and other groups within the Longwood area and university on concerns of mutual interest; and to serve in an advisory capacity by reviewing policies and recommending changes, if warranted, to the deans and administration of the school. The Committee on the Concerns of Women Faculty was established in 1992; the charge was revised in 2006 and the committee renamed in 2014 to the Committee on the Advancement of Women Faculty.
