In April 2022, Harvard University published the Harvard & Legacy of Slavery Report detailing the university’s ties to slavery and the slavery economy. The report also included a set of Recommendations on actions that can be taken by the university, which was generated by the university’s President’s Committee on Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery.

In the 2022-2023 academic year, multiple forums for dialogue were held across the School, from which we compiled community feedback in three areas: a) suggested actions for the School, b) guiding principles on engagement with Descendant communities, and c) questions for university leadership–which can be found here on our Legacy of SLavery Projects landing page.

This session will focus on takeaways from those conversations last year, and will include discussion on tangible approaches for next steps with the engagement of Black and Indigenous descendant communities for the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health.

This session is intended to be interactive and will be facilitated by senior administrators from the Harvard Chan School.
