Lunch ‘n’ Learn Program for Staff of Color and Allies

Lunch ‘n’ Learn is a series of workshops for Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health staff of color and allies. Participants meet once a month and engage in a themed session facilitated by members of the community and external guests.

Mission Statement

The Lunch ‘n’ Learn Program consists of a group of Harvard Longwood staff of color and allies committed to the School’s goals of developing an open and inclusive environment. The primary goals of this group are to develop a community; promote creativity, innovation, and learning; and foster personal and professional growth.

Fall 2023 – Spring 2024 

 
Join us on a transformative journey of self-discovery, growth, and empowerment through our comprehensive Lunch ‘n’ Learn: Mastering Professional Growth and Leadership program. This participatory (non-accredited) certificate encompasses four dynamic training sessions designed to equip you with essential skills and insights for success in your personal and professional life. Our sessions will be facilitated by Natascha F. Saunders, Career Development Consultant and Associate Director / Career Coach at the Harvard Kennedy School. 

Why Attend All Four Sessions and Earn the Participatory Certificate? 

In today’s fast-paced and competitive world, personal and professional development is not an option; it’s a necessity. By participating in all four sessions of our “Mastering Professional Growth and Leadership Certificate” Lunch ‘n’ Learn Program, you will embark on a voluntary holistic learning experience that empowers you to:

Cultivate Resilience and Confidence: “Self-Esteem: Establishing a Vision Sets You In Motion” will guide you in building self-esteem, managing stress, and utilizing journaling as a tool for career development. You’ll learn the importance of self-awareness and personal growth and how they relate to your self-esteem. This session will take place on Wednesday, October 4 at 1:00pm. Please register here.

Enhance Assertiveness and Personal Branding: “Assertiveness & Confidence: Personal Branding and Establishing the Advisory Board” will empower you to develop assertiveness skills, communicate confidently, and create a personal brand that sets you apart in your career. This session will take place on Thursday, November 30 at 1:00pm. Please register here.

Harness Power and Influence: “Your Path to Power & Influence: Who has it? What it is? What it’s not!” dives deep into power dynamics, teaching you how to harness it effectively, overcome barriers, and apply it positively in your professional life. This session will take place on Wednesday, March 13 at 1:00pm. Please register here.

Embrace Leadership and Growth: “Self-Assessing Your Leadership” focuses on leadership self-assessment and growth. You’ll explore your strengths, personality traits, emotional intelligence, and patterns in leadership, all while gaining insights from peer feedback and influential leaders. By attending all four sessions and earning the “Mastering Professional Growth and Leadership Participatory Certificate,” you will:
