Ayesha is a student in the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) Program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Her background includes social work, public health, community organizing, and political activism. Ayesha has a passion for public policy and works tirelessly to empower the voices of those often excluded from decision-making arenas. She is a fierce advocate who believes in the power of keeping and establishing meaningful relationships with the community and other stakeholders to accomplish tangible outcomes.

Ayesha holds two master’s degrees, one in social work with a policy practice concentration from the University of Connecticut (UCONN) and one in public health from Benedictine University. She received her bachelor’s degree in economics at UConn. 

She is the Executive Director of Health Equity Solutions and was the Vice President of Operations at COMPASS Youth Collaborative. Before that, she was the regional field organizer for a congressional campaign and a researcher at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work, where she currently teaches in an adjunct capacity. She held elected office as a member of Hartford’s Board of Education, which she chaired from 2017-2021.

The DrPH Program will help Ayesha learn to work and utilize policies and practices to address and dismantle systemic and structural racism embedded in our health systems.
