Qais is a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) student at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, with a solid commitment to improving access to care for marginalized communities. Having interests in data analytics, healthcare systems, health innovation, and entrepreneurship, Qais has held several leadership and academic positions, including Director of the Health Innovation Initiative and Senior Lecturer in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Public Health at Alfaisal University. In these roles, he established collaborations with global industries to promote health education, digital health, and innovation empowerment. In addition, He mentored students while teaching multiple graduate courses on Research Methods, Biostatistics, and Epidemiology.

During the DrPH Program, Qais is particularly interested in leveraging advanced quantitative methods to facilitate decision-making and deliver evidence-based policies and implementation strategies. As a physician and public health professional with over a decade of experience, he is invested in exploring potential frameworks for facilitating economic empowerment, health equity, and a sustainable healthcare system to prevent communicable diseases and promote healthcare access in a global health context. Moreover, he wants to understand the impact of decentralization on health system inequity and the impact of implementing a value-based care model in rural communities. Upon completion of the DrPH Program, Qais intends to pursue leadership roles in large organizations to bridge collaboration within an interdisciplinary ecosystem of experts and investors to develop innovative health solutions.

Outside of his work, Qais enjoys reading, exercising, horse riding, and playing the violin. Qais is a medical doctor by training; he holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Alfaisal University and a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH), specializing in Biostatistics & Epidemiology from Washington University in St. Louis.
