Dr. Yiallouros studied Medicine at the University of Athens supported by scholarships of the Greek State Scholarships Foundation and the ‘‘A.G. Leventis Foundation’’ and trained in general pediatrics at the ‘‘P & A Kyriakou’’ Children’s Hospital in Athens and in pediatric pulmonology at St Thomas’ Hospital and the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London. In 1997 he joined the tertiary ‘‘Archbishop Makarios III” Hospital in Nicosia-Cyprus and established the Pediatric Pulmonology Unit. From 2005 till 2015 he served as an Adjunct Faculty and Head of the “Respiratory Diseases & The Environment Research Program” of the Cyprus International Institute for Environmental and Public Health, a research institute that was established in Cyprus by an agreement of the Cyprus Government and Harvard University. Since 2019, Dr. Yiallouros serves as the chairman of the Medical Advisory Board of the Health Insurance Organization of Cyprus.

Over the last 15 years, Dr. Yiallouros has acquired ten competitive research European and local grants bringing external funding exceeding 3 million euros.  He is an Associate Editor of BMC Pulmonary Medicine and his published work includes more than 100 publications in PubMed Journals, which have received wide international recognition and now feature more than 15,000 citations, an h-index of 46 and total IF: >600.
