MPH Practicum Handbook
The MPH practicum handbook highlights the essential components of the Applied Practice Experience, requirements, FAQ, timelines, and more. Specific details will be provided in individual practice classes.
Overview
To meet the Applied Practice Experience requirement, students must document a total of five competencies that they acquire through their practicum experience, by submitting two work products. The five competencies include three foundational competencies and two field of study-specific competencies (see full list of program competencies). This requirement is defined by the Council on Education for Public Health, the accrediting body for public health programs.
Deadlines
Products are due in Spring 2 for MPH-45 students and in Fall 1 for MPH-65 students; refer to your course syllabus for deadlines, which differ by field of study. We recommend uploading them as you develop them in your practicum.
