A member of the National Vaccine Day (NVD) Steering Committee, Keona Wynne, PhD ’25, and others helped organized the first NVD event in Boston on September 18, 2021. Around 800 people attended the day-long event that offered live events, vendors, and information about the public health. COVID-19 vaccines were also made available.
“It was such a warm and welcoming environment,” says Wynne in a Harvard Chan feature. “You could feel the sense of community.”
Acknowledging the need for community building and outreach about public health, Wynne plans to organize another event next year.
