Career Discussion Group- Consulting as a Postdoc: Friday 6/4 at 12-1pm 

During our next career discussion group meeting (Friday, June 4th, from 12 to 1pm), Dr. Amar Sahay, cofounder of Labmate, will join us for about half of the hour to talk about the importance/relevance of consultancy work for postdocs. Please email Béné at bgnangnon@hsph.harvard.edu if interested in joining the meeting.

 

Office of Diversity and Inclusion: Intercultural Communication: Wednesday 6/9 at 10-11am 

We’ll be hosting a special conversation with Lilu Barbosa and Adriana Robertson from the Office of Diversity and Inclusion on intercultural communication. Intercultural communication is an extremely important, and an extremely challenging, part of our professional lives. Join us as this stellar team presents a set of strategies for navigating cross-cultural conversations in the workplace – this is one not to miss! Zoom link here.

 

PDA monthly meeting: Wednesday 6/30 at 4-5pm 

The monthly PDA Council meeting is open to all members of the Postdoctoral Association (including postdoctoral trainees and research associates) who want to learn about current and future PDA initiatives. A zoom link will be sent the week prior to the meeting. 

 

🌐 PDA Initiative Highlights 🌐

Summer/Fall Conference Awards: Apply by June 7 at 8pm

We are pleased to announce another round of conference awards to support attendance at virtual conferences taking place in July through December of this year. Note that as University policy still does not allow for covering travel to in-person events or conferences, we cannot provide funding support for any in-person events. We are awarding up to 6 applicants with up to $500 to cover eligible expenses for virtual conference attendance. More information about the application can be found on our website. All applications should be submitted using the Travel Awards Submission Survey. 

 

Join the PDA Council! Elections at our next PDA monthly meeting: Wednesday 6/30 at 4-5pm 

The PDA has open positions on the council. We will hold elections at our next monthly meeting at the end of June. The term ends at our next council-wide election in the Fall. See below for open positions, check our website for a description of the positions, and email hsphpda@hsph.harvard.edu if you are interested or have questions.
