Light therapy | There is a light therapy lamp in the student lounge in Kresge LL10. Get there by taking the elevator just outside Sebastian’s Café down one floor.

Reflection Room | Kresge LL14 is reserved for quiet reflection. There are various religious and non-religious texts available.

Countway cuddles | Countway library hosts a therapy dog semi-regularly.

Finding community

Student organizations | HSPH has a vibrant student community that frequently seeks to include postdocs and RAs.

Brown bag lunches (starting Spring 2020) The HSPH postdoctoral association will host regular brown-bag lunches in the Kresge cafeteria for postdocs and RAs to meet one another.

Boston Postdoctoral Association | Boston has an active multi-university postdoctoral association that frequently plans academic and social events.

Finding a mental health counselor

A mental health counselor can be a helpful resource for a wide range of mental health needs. If you are a benefits-eligible employee at HSPH, you are likely eligible to receive mental health counseling for about $30 copay per session

To see a mental health counselor, a referral from your primary care physician is normally not needed, but you may wish to contact your insurance provider to verify this.

Use the following links to find a mental health counselor, depending on your insurance provider:

Harvard University Group Health Plan: https://huhs.harvard.edu/find-clinician  (choose ‘behavioral health’)

Blue Cross Blue Shield: https://www.bcbs.com/

(choose ‘find a doctor’, ‘doctors by specialty’, and ‘behavioral health’)
