Geographic Insights Lab

The Geographic Insights Lab at the Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies aims to improve population health and development globally. Our team develops rigorous data science solutions, creates value-added data, and undertakes scientific inquiry so that geographic precision and political engagement can guide efficient resource allocation decisions, targeted policy actions, and performance monitoring and evaluations for population health and development. By focusing on geographic units such as congressional districts in the United States, and parliamentary constituencies or villages in India, we hope to improve precision in policy governance and action relating to such critical issues as COVID-19 and the nutritional status of children across the districts of India. As an example, this project presents a dashboard that provides LIVE metrics on the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in India, state by state.
