Charting the AR Cistrome in Human Prostate Tissue

Clinical observation and experimental evidence point to the centrality of the androgen axis in prostate tumorigenesis. When activated, the androgen receptor (AR) binds DNA and regulates gene activity. The AR cistrome, the set of AR binding targets in the genome, has been clearly defined in cell lines. Currently, little is known regarding the detailed landscape of AR-DNA binding in human prostate tissue. I will discuss our experiences in defining and interpreting the AR cistrome in patient-derived normal and tumor prostate tissue.
