Chromosomes at super-resolution and a 300 million year old mystery

Our studies of genome organization have led us to develop tools for imaging the genome in situ using diffraction-limited light microscopy as well as single-molecule super-resolution microscopy. Here, I will summarize our progress with Oligopaints, OligoSTORM, and OligoDNA-PAINT. Time permitting, I will touch on SNP-resolved Hi-C to decipher the structure of paired homologs and the potential importance of somatic pairing in sequence ultraconservation.
