SBS doctoral student, Shaniece Criss, ’15 was selected to deliver this year’s student speaker address. Shaniece reflected on her Grandmama Sarah as the person who inspired her to pursue a career in public health.
After her grandmother passed away from cancer, Shaniece realized “there were many mechanisms at work that had shortened her life, especially a social environment that systematically harms health.”
