CEP serves as an agent of the faculty to promote the quality of education at the school. Comprised of faculty representatives from all academic departments, senior education leaders, and including student representation, CEP meets throughout the academic year, roughly monthly. CEP is charged with developing and communicating policies that enhance the quality of education, including policies on advising and mentoring of students and fellows.
CEP is also charged with approving new courses and degree programs; coordinating the school’s accreditation related policies and review processes; overseeing the course evaluation system, the graduating student satisfaction and alumni curricular effectiveness surveys; and conducting periodic reviews of and making recommendations to the educational programs at the school. Implementation of educational policies adopted by CEP is accomplished via the appropriate departmental or administrative unit(s) within the school.
One faculty member from each department is appointed by the department chair, in consultation with the senior associate dean for professional education, for three-year terms. The dean appoints the chair and vice-chair. CEP meets monthly during the academic year.
