David Ginnings

Senior Learning Designer; Instructor

David Ginnings is a Senior Learning Designer in the Learning Design and Instructional Support group and Instructor for the DrPH Program. He supports the continuous improvement of the blended MPH in Epidemiology program, development of new online courses in the MPH Generalist program, and consults throughout HSPH on matters related to effective learning design and facilitation.

His experience teaching in rural under-resourced American settings and in international educational contexts surfaced a desire for deeper scientific understanding of the intersections among self-directed learning, learner motivation, and online learning technologies. His dissertation “The Effect of a Self-Efficacy in Autonomous Learning Treatment on Academic Achievement of Online Doctoral Students” piloted a self-efficacy in autonomous learning treatment for online students.

David especially enjoys conversations about broadening access and opportunities through innovations in post-secondary education.
