Director for Educational Policy

Jennifer Betancourt (she/her) brings a social justice and equity lens to her work and believes in the power of community to change systems. As the Director of Educational Policy, she spearheads accreditation, provides strategic guidance to the Committee on Educational Policy, manages the Teaching Assistant training, the course evaluation system, the annual graduate exit survey, and contributes to strategic curricular and inclusive teaching and learning initiatives. Accomplishing these goals includes working in partnership with her wonderful team members and colleagues across the School.

Prior to joining Harvard Chan, Jennifer was the Associate Director of the Jeannette K. Watson Fellowship in NYC where she led the day-to-day operations of the fellowship that included selection of fellows, managed a portfolio of 75+ domestic and international internship partners, developed the educational programming and summer curriculum, and provided academic and professional coaching/mentorship to Fellows and alumni. Former positions have included work with Tuesday’s Children and the Institute for Family Health.

She holds a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, a MSW from Fordham University, NYC, and a Professional Certificate in Global Affairs from the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies, NYC.

In her free time, she can be found traveling with family and friends, doing yoga, listening to podcasts, enjoying the outdoors, and volunteering on race and equity initiatives in the Cambridge Public School System.
