Meg Lovejoy is research program director for the Work and Well-being Initiative, a broad-based research and policy program designed to develop, test, and implement evidence-based workplace change for worker health and well-being. Meg has worked at the Center for over five years now and, with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, NIOSH, and AARP, she has overseen multiple research projects on organizational change for worker well-being. She has also led translational work in this area for employers, worker advocates and policymakers. Meg holds a PhD in sociology and is co-author of a book (“Opting Back In: What Really Happens When Mothers Go Back to Work,” University of California Press, 2019) about the long-term work and family consequences of taking a career break for professional women. She has published in peer-reviewed journals such as the American Journal of Public Health and Gender & Society. Prior to joining the center, she taught at several colleges and universities in the Boston area and in the Midwest.
