Kenneth Mayer is a professor of medicine at the Harvard Medical School, a professor in the Department of Global Health and Population at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and co-director of The Fenway Institute where he teaches and mentors medical students, residents, and fellows. His areas of research include international HIV/AIDS, Gay and Bisexual Men’s Health, HIV/AIDS Prevention, Microbicides, PrEP, PEP, Vaccines, Secondary Prevention, HIV/AIDS Treatment, and Antibiotic Use and Molecular Epidemiology of Antibiotic Resistance. Mayer has provided care to people living with HIV since the beginning of the AIDS epidemic. He developed some of the first cohort studies and prevention interventions dealing with HIV.
