Head shot of Hernan

Miguel Hernan, MD, MPH, ScM, DrPH

Kolokotrones Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology
Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health

Miguel Hernan is the Kolokotrones Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, and director of the CAUSALab at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The goal of the researchers at the Lab is to generate, analyze, and interpret data so that decision makers—patients, clinicians, regulators, policy makers—can make better decisions about what works in medicine, public health, and policy. Hernan studies and implements causal inference methods to evaluate strategies for the treatment and prevention of disease. Together with collaborators in several countries, he designs analyses of healthcare databases, epidemiologic studies, and randomized trials.
