Cathy is an MPH-45 candidate in Health and Social Behavior with a Maternal and Child Health concentration. She practiced obstetrics and gynecology for fifteen years in California and has delivered over 3000 babies. She is interested in developing strategies to decrease maternal mortality in the U.S. and globally.

Cathy and Ariel’s project focuses on training a group of midwives in Uganda in common obstetrical emergencies. They are partnering with the Busoga Health Forum, a non-profit community organization based in Jinja. They hope to give the midwives the tools for ongoing simulation training.
