Maryam Ahmed immigrated to the U.S. from Canada, where she grew up with her four siblings. She also volunteers as an Outreach and Education Volunteer for The Family Van as well as a crisis counselor for The Crisis Text Line. Maryam credits her passion for public and global health to living in Karachi for over a decade, where she received her M.B.B.S. (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery).
