Rose Service Learning Fellow

Diana is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Epidemiology in the GRAPE multidisciplinary research and training team in global perinatal Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Her research focuses on identifying predictors of maternal mental health and adverse pregnancy outcomes, as well as evaluating how in-utero exposure to violence and distress affects the physical and mental health of the offspring. Diana works with data from a well-characterized prospective pre-birth cohort study from Lima, Peru, known as the PrOMIS study. This study was co-founded by her PI and mentor, Dr. Bizu Gelaye.

Diana’s project will focus on understanding participants’ perceptions, expectations, and feelings of engagement as part of their involvement in a longitudinal pre-birth cohort study in Lima, Peru. Diana will co-facilitate the delivery of a public engagement event to inform the community about the study, and to learn from their experiences. Ways of improving participants’ engagement will be developed.
