Himaja is an incoming second-year MS student in the Environmental Health department and her research interests include understanding how environmental contaminants, such as PFAS, can affect the health and well-being of vulnerable communities. She is a Presidential Public Service Fellow at Harvard, and through this, contributes to the implementation of policies that address these issues. She is excited to bring these experiences to her work at the Children’s Foundation of Mississippi this summer!
Himaja’s project will focus on working alongside state agency heads to continue developing a “blueprint” on behalf of Mississippi’s children and creating policy briefs that directly impact children ages 9-18 years of age.
