Jhordan is a 3rd year doctoral student in the Nutrition department. Her research focuses on caregiver decision-making specific to infant and child feeding practices among afro-descendant families in the Americas. She is interested in exploring cultural nuances of social norms and behaviors around eating and the impact of cultural dissonance on body esteem and expectations in early childhood.
Jhordan’s project focuses on understanding the perceived cultural relevance of child feeding and nutrition messages received by parents of young children in a racially diverse community.
