Rose Service Learning Fellow

Sabrina Ebengho is a Master of Public Health candidate in the Department of Health Policy and an immigrant from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Before coming to Harvard, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Health – Global Health from the University of Washington. Sabrina’s professional expertise lies in community-based participatory research and public health practices that intentionally center equity in marginalized communities, especially for BIPOC individuals and immigrants, refugees, and migrants. Her areas of interest include social determinants of health, maternal and child health, HIV, and health systems strengthening. She is passionate about examining inequities embedded in all facets of health systems to inform and implement policies and programs that adequately address disparities, improve equity, quality, and health outcomes.

Sabrina’s research project aims to assess the determinants and challenges of viral load suppression among children and adolescents living with HIV in Lualaba, Democratic Republic of Congo. This experience will enable her to collaborate and build partnerships with community stakeholders, advocating for and, one day, designing age-specific, patient-centered HIV interventions to enhance viral load suppression in this population. Her work also aims to influence systemic policies that will control the epidemic and improve health outcomes in the country.
