Samuel Mendez

Sam is a doctoral student in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department. Their research interests are around health equity, health communication, and community engagement. Their background is in media arts, which is a lens Sam wants to bring to communication and community engagement for health equity.

Sam’s project focuses on stakeholder interviews to inform a self-assessment for Tribes/Tribal organizations to gauge their own readiness for a pilot program to establish Tribally-led Maternal Mortality Review Committees.
