Yuri Kim

Rose Service Learning Fellow

Yuri is a second-year MPH student in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences with a concentration in maternal and child health. Prior to attending Harvard, Yuri worked at a federally qualified health center, focused on delivering comprehensive and integrated primary care, behavioral health, medication-assisted treatment, and dental care to individuals from diverse backgrounds. She is passionate about delivering evidence-based interventions with the goal of enhancing early child development within underserved communities and is involved in qualitative research studies that focus on the implementation of community-based interventions designed to support caregivers and promote early child development.

Yuri’s project is centered on evaluating the implementation quality of the Moments that Matter (MTM) parenting program in Kenya. This program involves the active participation of community volunteers, faith leaders, and early child development (ECD) committees, who undergo mobilization and training to provide nurturing care and ECD services throughout an 18-month program duration. Yuri will collaborate with the community to identify emerging challenges and success factors, aiming to derive valuable insights that will contribute to informed recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness of the MTM program.
