Student Spotlight: Santana Silver, MPH-HSB ’21

Santana Silver is a first year HSB-65 student interested in links between social inequalities and health disparities, with a focus on how social determinants affect chronic disease and mental illness risk in marginalized populations. In this Q&A she shares her experience participating in this winter session’s CDC Evaluation Course (SBS 550). After a week-long training on the CDC’s Atlanta campus, Santana traveled to the U.S. Virgin Islands and worked with the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Health to create an evaluation plan for the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program.
