Nancy Krieger featured in Roll Call

Dr. Nancy Krieger, Professor of Social Epidemiology, was recently featured in “Rural areas face pandemic risk as country’s urban areas reopen” written by Michael Macagnone of Roll Call.

In the article, the author writes about the dangers of COVID-19 in rural areas where their older population tend to have higher rates of chronic illnesses and live in concentrated areas. “You can have a lot of open space,” says Dr. Krieger. “But if people are living crowded because there are not great housing options and low wages, it takes only one person to set off a household.”
