The Office of Financial Aid at the Harvard Chan School will review the loan history of students with an excessive amount of student loan debt before originating any new federal student loans. Students will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Students will not be denied access because of race, sex, color, income, religion, national origin, age or handicapped status. In the best interest of the student, federal student loans may be reduced or refused per federal regulations. In either event, the student will receive written notification providing an explanation [HEA Sec. 479(A)(c), 34 CFR 685.301(a)(8), DCL GEN-11-07].
